GETTING TO MATERA

BY AIR:

Matera’s nearest airport is Bari, from which it can be reached by train or bus (some departing from the airport).

The Bari Airport shuttle to Matera is run by the Pugliairbus service.

The shuttle departs from the area in front of the ARRIVALS entrance of Bari Palese International Airport – Karol Wojtyla and stops in Matera in Piazza Giacomo Matteotti. The buses are recognisable from the sign on the windscreen “Navetta Bari Aeroporto – Matera”

BY TRAIN:

• From Bari, you can reach Matera Centrale station in about 90 minutes with Ferrovie Appulo Lucane.
• From Ferrandina: arrive in Ferrandina (30 km from Matera) with Ferrovie dello Stato, then take an FAL bus (Ferrovie Appulo Lucane).

BY BUS:

You can get to Matera with the MARINO, FLIXBUS, MICCOLIS, FRECCIALINK, MAROZZI, PETRUZZI, LISCIO and ITABUS lines.
